Hi Everyone,

On my desktop and on my laptop these 2 software is stuck on an endless update loop where they show up on my update list like every other day. Please see the below screenshot. Does anyone have the same problem cause I thought if it's just me why would it be on two separate computers?

Screenshot 2023-01-15 065335.jpg

Thanks

If they are installed on your computers, then you will see them. . If you don't want them, uninstall them. You can uninstall People by clicking on the 3 dots and selecting uninstall. The Xbox one, you might not be able to uninstall it that way, if not, you'll need to Open PowerShell as Administrator. Copy and Paste both of these below and press ENTER....You might not need both, but running both won't hurt anything if one isn't needed.

Get-AppxPackage *Xbox* | Remove-AppxPackage
Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage

You mean it's ok to see them updated almost every day on the windows store? Does anyone else has this issue or is it just me?

Thanks

Yes, me too (Dell laptop), and, if I remember well (but I'm not 100 % sure) this also happens on my HP Desktop with Windows 10.
And, yes, it's annoying. 🤯
(I feel a lack of perceptiveness in this thread 😕 )

There is nothing to be resolved.
I get all of those mentioned and more, like Mail and Calendar, Phone Link, some of which are currently several times a week. Also some Non MS Apps, so it is not specifically MS.
There are bouts of this which is normal. I use MS Mail App daily and the version does update, there is no 'loop' or 'sticking'. That is up to you to check versions.

I have had MS Store on manual updates for 10 years, during Windows 8.1/10/11. Go to MS Store > Settings and change it, Auto updates > Off, that minimises any annoyance.

I don’t use the Xbox app at all. And auto updates are already off. The Xbox game bar plugin just updates daily for no reason, with no app number change. It installs (successfully) the same app number everytime. I already tried repairing Xbox game bar and resetting it and disabling it. It still
Updates. I even went ahead and reset the cache on the MS store. It’s 100% a Microsoft problem.

Any Updates on when this will be fixed? It is happening every other day now instead of everyday, has anyone considered removing the overlay and xbox game bar via PowerShell? is this a reliable option? Or should we wait? Also does anyone know how much space these updates for my ssd? Its just the xbox game bar plugin one.

Still no updates on this? I keep getting it lol, I have no idea how much it uses so. Cant I just delete the folders for it or uninstall it via powershell to get rid of it?
<edited>
No updates till now. [But maybe the recent (yesterday) update of the "App Installation Program" (in Italian is named "Programma di installazione app*") has something someway to do with it maybe, since from that update I haven't seen any longer this Xbox nuisance. But it's really too early to say it.]

Actually, I don't know; I'm waiting too.
