Of course this is nothing new, just got more intrusive.
I read a story about 10 yrs ago, guy got a rental car. When he returned it there was an extra $200 attached to the bill. Asking about it, he was told that according to the GPS monitoring, he had exceeded the speed limit in certain areas. Buried in the contract was the clause that you must obey all speed limits, and since he didn't, a fine was added.
