Since June the customer has been trying to install the latest Windows Insider Preview (the one showing is: 25951 (rs_prerelease)). The error it gives is: 0x1900101, as of 9.14.23. This is the latest attempt of windows to install, but with other builds which the customer don't have the above information, the same thing happens. I have tried many various and sundry ways to get the installation to work for the customer to no avail, hence the expiration. What can I do to force-install since the customer don't want to do a clean instal.

Your customers should not be on an insider build in the first place...unless they are prepared for having to wipe everything and start from scratch.

The install issue has not yet been solved...

Does the computer have all the supported hardware?

Does the machine have an AMD CPU or GPU or both?

Welcome to Eleven Forum.

The latest Insider Preview for the Dev channel is now 26058 (ge_release).

All the 26**** builds are version 24H2, and a new requirement for the 24H2 ge_release is that you must have a CPU that supports the PopCnt instruction. If your customer is running their Insider Preview on an unsupported device you need to check their CPU. There is no possible workaround for this, 24H2 just can't run without the PopCnt instruction. For an Intel it requires SSE4.2, for an AMD it is SSE4a. See post #25 here for how to check...

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.
