Solved I installed visual studio 2022, then installed visual studio 2015 but vs 2015 not appears in installed programs?

not here though, why is this?

partly why this is an issue, I have an add on for visual studio 2015 I wanted to try, but the add on says 2022 is installed and does not find 2015, so it can not install

I have read MS is deprecating the use of control panel

Studio 2015 shows in my apps list, for whatever that's worth.

Regardless, you should be able to open the "Developer Command Prompt for VS2015" from your Start menu, and run the VSIX installer from there. VSIXInstaller.exe "C:\Path\To\VSIX-File.vsix" That VSIX installer should be able to find Visual Studio 2015.

VSIX I think does not see VS 2015 in the installed programs list, so it says what it says.

Yes vs 2015 should appear in the win 11 PRO 23H2 installed program list.

This thread is why it does not and how to make it appear. If that is even possible.

Ok, will try that later, right now my grandson is on there.

Right, it's defaulting to the 2022 VSIX installer, which is why I said to use the 2015 VSIX installer.

How do you begin the process?

I've never used it. I actually didn't know it existed until this thread.

I just installed it to see if I could help with your issue. Luckily I still had a couple VB6 projects in my stash.

I wonder is it doing a conversion of a vb6 project or just somehow lets vb6 projects work in visual studio? And they stay at the vb6 level.
I have read VS 2008 and earlier will convert vb6 to a visual studio project. never tried any of this.

Since visual studio 2015 is installed but nothing about windows seems to realize it, not even REVO, how would I ever uninstall it?

Is this some kind of windows 11 bug? Weird.

It shows up for me, so probably just something went wrong during your install. I’m not at a computer at the moment, but does the Visual Studio installer show it? Maybe you can repair it from there.

ok, doing another install, then clicked repair.
Will see what happens
