I understand what you are saying but how would this work if my reason for needing to get into the recovery usb was, like the last time that I had the problem, that my system would not boot up at all - this would surely mean that I would not be able to access system/recovery etc etc. on my PC...

Following your advice I created a new USB recovery drive from an ISO, using the recommended Rufus method. I restarted my PC, interrupted boot up to change boot order to USB, then left it to restart. However, again it went straight into my normal bootup screen, no blue screen giving...

I've just tried Winget for a second time. Message says it has found existing package installed then says No available upgrade found. No newer package available from the configures sources.

I've already said that I tried to uninstall WhatsApp but it doesn't show up anywhere. I also tried to download a random program from Microsoft Store and, like WhatsApp, it gave me the Installer but that just won't work.. It just takes me back into ms store again Im sure Its a Windows problem...
