Thanks for the info. My needs for Word and Excel are very minor, so I need very little. I have downloaded LibreOffice and will see how that works. I have a feeling that it will do just fine for my purposes. Cheers - george

Alas, I just spoke with someone who explained that the version I purchased was specific to my computer. So when my computer died so did Word and Excel. I'll need to find an alternative.
