  2. How come I never have any desktop PC Windows problems?

Thank you BRINK for your many years helping the Windows Crowd. This Old Mans Thoughts at 75 years young. To start I have been building my own desktops from early 1990's. It all started as more of a curiosity on how computers worked and I was intrigued at what they did. Now, this has never...

  4. Solved Lost Directory Icons in MS EDGE favorites.

I did create a new Profile and the same result. No colored Directory Icon in MSEdge All is good within Win11 in hd directories and shows proper colored icons for all directories and sub-directories. I think it is within MS Edge.
  5. Solved Lost Directory Icons in MS EDGE favorites.

It's not the weblink that is missing. Those are good. It is when I made a directory within my favorites for a group of website I lose the colored icon for the Directory. It shows only a outline icon instead of a yellow-colored icon like the rest of win11.
  6. Solved Lost Directory Icons in MS EDGE favorites.

After installing the latest MSWin11 and MSEdge I lost my folder icons when I open my Favorites. I have Microsoft Edge Version 131.0.2903.112 (Official build) (64-bit) I have Win11 Pro 24H2 build 26100.2605 Seems only happens in MS Edge and not in Win11. The rest of my favorite icons in...

  8. Show off your internet speed!

After 20 plus years of COX and price increases for a slow 250/12 ($90) I decided to look elsewhere. Wyyerd just installed fiber in Phoenix AZ and in Surprise. Install was easy and quick with their wifi router and now have 1Gig / 1Gig for a reasonable price of $105 With some latency it drops to...
  9. Just updated to Win11 24H2 on desktop PC

I just compared my backups compressed size (Aomei Backerupper) OLD C: Drive backed up with 23H2 is 48 GB NEW C: Drive backed up with 24H2 is now 46 GB. Still I like it that the new 24H2 shows a decrease in space for me. Can't tell you why but I like it.
  10. Just updated to Win11 24H2 on desktop PC

My update to 24H2 so far has gone without any issues other than I had to delete the "Windows OLD" Directory when done. One thing I found was the new 24H2 has a smaller footprint and I have gained some SSD space back. WINDOWS OLD Directory size was. 35.2GB in size 582,311 files 169,520 folders...
  11. Is it just me or is Win11 becoming Win10 all over again?

Been around since Win98 and earlier and have used almost every Windows version. (1989 to present) Fast forward to April 2024 and it seems Win11 with all it's somewhat buggy updates is slowing my system down especially on startup. 13. Win11 Taskbar no longer has return to desktop icon.

Not sure if this is a recent change but I used to have a small vertical bar on the far right of my taskbar that would return the monitor to the desktop view. I only use it in a few situations but was curious if it was removed by me or MS Win11 update in the past. Not a high priority for me but...
