While I live in Illinois, I bought some vacation land in southern Tennessee, where I keep my travel trailer. The land is far from an urban area with no cell service. I was surprised when we got electrical service.

I set up Starlink internet service, which is expensive. After a couple of years the electrical service decided to run fiber to their customers. I've never heard of an electrical company doing that before. Then they offered 200, 1gig and 2gig internet. I signed up for their 1gig internet service. They installed the router last week and the internet service is real good. Here's my first speed test

I'm outside Sedona, AZ. As I'm not a gamer, everything I do is reliant upon the speed of the servers to which I connect. No complaints. All the TV streaming services via my Roku work as expected. Actually was quite surprised by the quality and speed of CenturyLink's service; better than what I had in El Paso.(y)

I remember seeing something about the FCC or some govt agency setting minimum internet speed at 100 Mpbs. Might be worth looking into.

The "published" minimum is 100/20. They can't really legislate what the end user actually sees because that's widely variable based on what's between the ISP connection and the actual displayed measured number. Also, that's just what they have to have available, I don't see where they can't offer slower speeds as well.

Really not sure those minimums stand for cellular internet data either. Mine is pretty dang good though for being so rural.
