if youre using the samsung nvme driver, try uninstalling them then try the update. the drivers are unusable with this update, at least for me

remove the m2 and disconnect the drive cable from the drive if thats faster

did you try what i said

disconnect the drive from the motherboard and see if the pc is able to post to the bios. the drive might have been failing which was why you would get missing boot device sometimes, until it finally failed.
