  2. System Reboots After Morning Startup

OK, I dsabled the auto restart option and restarted the system. The reliability monitor doesn’t show anything new in that the system is shutting down during the WD update. I will leave the system up tonight and see if we get the BSOD. Hopefully, that will help ID issue. Thanks for the help.
  3. System Reboots After Morning Startup

my Registry entry didn't stop the WD updates, but the System event log seems to show the system crashing and rebooting right after the WD updates. It shows a restart after an unexpected shutdown with a bug error. I honestly don't know what is causing the restart after the WD updates which show...
  4. System Reboots After Morning Startup

The event logs show an abnormal reboot during the daily Windows Defender update. When the system restarts, the update finishes its installs successfully. The system is reporting these to MS, so maybe that will have some impact someday. I did unpause WU yesterday and let it do the latest patch...
  5. System Reboots After Morning Startup

Well, the system rebooted itself after today’s WD update to KB226702 v. 1.455.261.0. Back to square one, but I can’t work on the issue now. The only time this happens is when WD is updated with new definitions. It is not random, but I’ll look deeper. More later.
  6. System Reboots After Morning Startup

I ran sfc /scannow which found and fixed corrupted files. Did a maunal reboot which did an update of KB226702 v. 1.455.245.0 Thinking this may have been the corrupted file. There was no reboot afterwards, so we'll see what the morning brings.
  7. System Reboots After Morning Startup

I will check these suggestions out as soon as I can. Thanks for the suggestions. I was confused as to why the updates were suddenly triggering the reboot.
  8. System Reboots After Morning Startup

The system is shut down during the night time and after powering up and signing on, it will reboot shortly afterwards. It started about a week ago and appears to occur after the daily Windows Defender update. I don't have WD configured to run as I am using Norton360 for security. I have...
  9. Browsers Suddenly Can't Connect To Internet

I may have stumbled into the cause of this issue doing some further testing. FireFox starts 14 subtasks when this URL loads. I can sign in to the website and select a piece of email, let it load and go onto another one just fine. But if I select any other folder or piece of email before the...
  10. Browsers Suddenly Can't Connect To Internet

Went to test this problem just now and it seems to have disappeared. Checked the update history and today the only updates were KB2267602 v.1.437.174.0 and KB5007651 v.10.0.27840. Now the email client may have had an update to its website coding, but I have no way of knowing. I'll keep an eye...
  11. Browsers Suddenly Can't Connect To Internet

Not yet, will try this tomorrow. Not sure what this will do. FireFox and Chrome connect to the internet just fine and work with any URL without any issues, except for this email website used by the ISP. The website connects OK, let's you sign in and displays the mailboxes. As soon as you...
  12. Browsers Suddenly Can't Connect To Internet

Realtek. Last Realtek update was on 08/24/25. The problem started on 09/17/25. Excellent suggestion. I'm still stuck on the web site coding since the problem is confined to FireFox and Chrome. The only piece of software I can't validate is the third party mail service my ISP uses. The ISP's...
  13. Browsers Suddenly Can't Connect To Internet

I disabled the Norton360 functions with no change. I then uninstalled Norton360 with no change to to problem. In the meantime, FireFox updated the browser from v.140.0 to v.140.0.1 and the problem has changed to where it now takes longer for the browser to break its internet connection with...
  14. Browsers Suddenly Can't Connect To Internet

Thanks, I'll look at that. Just finished working with the ISP tech folks on their supported router (I own it, but they support it). They have had some network issues this last week. They would just reboot the modem/router when they encounter a problem. It would go unnoticed, except our...
  15. Browsers Suddenly Can't Connect To Internet

Ran WU today to install the September "B" updates (4 updates, HP, windows net, "B", & MSRT), but it didn't change the problem occurrence. Waiting for the ISP's response for modem/router firmware update. I think I failed to mention that the PC is connected to the ISP's modem/router via the...
