Good news though...your reg files appears to still work! I wonder why they removed that from GPO? I did put in a feedback request MONTHS ago asking for a way to disable search ONLY for specific users. I want admins to HAVE the search on Start Menu, while non-admins to NOT have it.

So, it looks like in Windows 11 23H2, specifically Build 22631.3085, they have completely removed the "gpedit > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Search" folder altogether?! O.o

Unfortunately, this is not working at all for me. I DOES properly disable location services on Windows 10 systems, but does not appear to work for Windows 11. My Location Services section is still greyed out, and nothing is set via GPO that would be doing this. =\

So, I doubt that a VM will display this same scenario. It's ONLY occurring on the user's console laptop screen (15.6in in size). If they connect an external monitor to the system, it does not appear to have that issue. It seems like "perhaps" Microsoft made a change to how they default DPI...
