  1. How to create a new text file in build 22621?

The "classic" keyboard shortcut to create a new text file is back in 22621.1702 as well: Alt+F - W - T
  2. How to create a new text file in build 22621?

I can confirm this on my end in 22621.1702 as well. So the issue has been fixed now. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/3508/HzIUhL.png
  3. How to create a new text file in build 22621?

Update regarding "Shft+F10 - W - T" in File Explorer with Ribbon: a) it only works if a text file was created earlier with "Alt+H - W" and later deleted. b) it will not work after the Explorer has been closed and subsequently restarted (until another text file is created with "Alt+H - W"and...
  4. How to create a new text file in build 22621?

I do not want to have images embedded in the post. This makes it difficult for those who have slower internet connections. Also, in cases (like this one) where images are optional and only provided to add clarity it does not make sense to have them embedded and obscure the text.
  5. How to create a new text file in build 22621?

The best workaround I have found so far is to use File Explorer with Ribbon instead of of the default one. I have seen it reported that the "ribbon" version of File Explorer was not available in earlier 22H2 builds but it definitely works ok in 22621.1635: WindowsKey+R control OK Alt+UpArrow...

You can now build Tiny 11 yourself from the latest official MSFT ISO (22621.525) or from version 22621.1265 downloaded from UUP dump, using Tiny 11 Builder available on GitHub. The project is open source, here is the link: https://github.com/ntdevlabs/tiny11builder
  7. How to create a new text file in build 22621?

Is it a fresh install of 22621 or an in-place upgrade from 22000?
  8. How to create a new text file in build 22621?

I have upgraded from build 22000.1817 to 22621.1635 and the option to create a new "text document" just disappeared. In 22000.x builds it was available here: https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/7462/Yc04il.png https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/4967/BxNZ2q.png Can it somehow be...
  9. Win Update KB5018546 Cumulative Update .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8, and 4.8.1 - Oct. 11

I think I have now a better understanding of how it works. I have Win 11 21H2 and it seems that .NET is never automatically updated from v4.8 to v4.8.1 on such systems, but it can still be done manually. So .NET updates listed in post #2 are intended as follows: windows10.0-kb5017264 - Win11...
  10. Win Update KB5018546 Cumulative Update .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8, and 4.8.1 - Oct. 11

Update: It seems that kb5017264 is actually the right file to install and kb5017267 should be ignored. I use Abbodi's W10UI (v10.23) to perform the updates and get DISM Error 0x800f081e with kb5017267: https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/2666/vUkoRl.png Removing kb5017267 solves the...
  11. Win Update KB5018546 Cumulative Update .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8, and 4.8.1 - Oct. 11

When you try to download this file from Microsoft Update Catalog you are offered the following two files. One seems to be applicable only to Windows 10 and another one to Windows 11: windows10.0-kb5017264 windows11.0-kb5017267 https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/2515/kiDlPk.png Has anyone...
  12. Starting File Explorer with the legacy ribbon

Same trick for keyboard users (originally posted on 2021-Nov-16, still works with 22000.708): https://www.elevenforum.com/t/native-file-explorer-with-ribbon.2820/

  14. Native File Explorer with Ribbon

I have just discovered the following trick to open the File Explorer with Ribbon without any third party applications or registry changes. My OS build is 22000.346: WindowsKey+R control OK Alt+UpArrow Just repeat the above to open multiple windows. This version of File Explorer has the old...
