I had a round of MR backups fail verification a couple of years ago. At the time, I was backing up a dozen systems once a month and half of those uses and external HDD which I then used to copy the backups to my file server. I had not seen any errors during the backup and verification process...
That seems odd. I did a trial version of X back when they first offered it, and it was not much improvement over 8.1. But recently, I did another trial, this time of version 10.0.8495, and it was much faster -- cut the backup time by 1/3 over 8.1.
I think build 8325 is the current MR 8.1 version -- and that came out in October, 2024.
I do the same -- use MR as primary and Hasleo as backup -- but I've never run across the time limiting stuff mentioned in this thread, although I do update Hasleo every time they come out with a new version...
My pushback back against the MR X version is more than it being a subscription model -- it is focused on the price. I have a 4-pack MR 8 set of that I used for three years and for which I paid $100 USD. That works out to a little over $8 per system per year. The subscription price, last time...
Update does not install via Windows Update for me. It starts ot OK, then a window opens like the one when you install from an ISO, then it fails, telling me that the hardware on this machine is incompatible with this version of Windows.
Which is odd, because I am running 26120 builds without...

I don't know what you mean by "default". I click the ISO link on the first page of this thread, it opens UUPDUMP, I go through the selections like usual, download the 26120.3380_amd64_en-us_multi_ba8d2e9e_convert.zip file, unpack it to a directory, run it as Administrator, and right after it...
