Thanx for that info glasskuter. I haven't had the time to fully explore the various personalization options for windows 11. I did just now take a look at the various accent color options, which, it turns out, do change the color of the bar under the icons.
I am curious to know why the color...
So, just a quick follow up to my first post... out of curiosity, I just closed/reopened outlook and now the color of the little color bar is switching between blue and gray depending on if I am currently using that program - blue when I am and gray when it is in the 'background'. Still curious...
Does anyone here know what the little color bars mean that appear under the open program icons in the taskbar? I have noticed that the length of the color bar is longer under the icon of the program I am currently using and short under the icons of the programs that are in the 'background', so...
and that is one of the many reasons why i hate MS - they are an evil company with a devil as its founder!
per user Brink - Clean Install Windows 11 Tutorial
and yes, that is a workaround hack!
I won't need it if I do a true 'clean' install, via a post by another user on these forums. That is how I stumbled upon these forums, I was looking for info on how to re-install Win11 without using a MS acct. Like I said above, I NEVER use my MS account for anything, and I have never even...
I will also be deleting my MS account! I don't use it for anything and I am not even sure why I created it in the first place. I think it had something to do with my Playstation account, but I can't remember.
No, glasskuter, it was official Microsoft support I was working with. I logged into my microsoft account to search for help there AFTER doing a hurried generic web search for info on my hard drive issue and not being able to find anything useful. My mistake, other than allowing ANYONE to...
well, unfortunately, yes... I had been using win 7 up until i built my new computer (3 wks ago) at which point i reluctantly went ahead and 'upgraded' to Win 11. Boy was I shocked at the difference! Well, I was having trouble figuring out an issue with the new hard drive I had installed. I...
I am using Windows 11 as my OS. I have only been using Win 11 for less than 3 weeks, as this is a new PC I recently built. I recently found a new user account named 'Fieldepo' with Administrator level access on my system. I did NOT create this account. When I selected this account to see if...
so then let me ask you this, if you don't mind answering: since my Win11 license will be tied to my MS acct no matter what at this point, would it not be easier for me to go the route that TheMystic used, and just create another user account with admin privileges, then log in with that new...
Shawn, your answer to Q3 makes it seem as though even if I re-install Win 11 using your clean install instructions and not installing it using my Microsoft acct, that my Win 11 digital license will still be linked to my MS acct no matter what. Is that correct?
thank you for your quick response and your answers! the E: partition is on the same physical hd as the OS partition C:, so as NavyLCDR said, if I can just wipe the rest of the drive and leave the E: partition intact, that would be awesome! I do have other physical drives connected (3 to be...
Hi Shawn, I really like your article here! I just recently had to build a new system due to an electrical storm/power outage frying my old system. I decided to go with Windows 11 vs Windows 10 so that I would possibly not have to update to a new OS again for a while. I was previously running...
