  1. Solved Compatibility issue with program created for Windows XP

Excellent! I had already tried that but without running as Administrator. Thank you so much because it seems that has indeed fixed it!
  2. Solved Compatibility issue with program created for Windows XP

Do I need to install the Windows PE app as well?
  3. Solved Compatibility issue with program created for Windows XP

Thanks for your suggestions. I already tried all settings from previous O/S versions to no avail. I just uninstalled and then reinstalled using Win 7 compatibility but the problem persists.
  4. How to remove Windows start button?

Yes, I have the current version which is 4.4.196 and the issue clearly has not been fixed. 🥺
  5. Solved Windows Lock Screen custom picture not working

Incidentally, the only reason I changed my lock screen picture was because Windows spotlight does not work. I tried that setting numerous times but Windows always changed it back to picture.
  6. How to remove Windows start button?

Hi, I use the latest version of OpenShell. Because my PC is an Alienware, I use OpenShell's option to change the start menu button to the Alienware version. This worked fine in Windows 10, but since updating to Windows 11 24H2 the Alienware button is merely superimposed over the original blue...
  7. Solved Compatibility issue with program created for Windows XP

Hi, I have a program called Kirby Alarm Pro which I use daily and find indispensable, especially as nothing with similar functionality is available. Although it was designed for Win XP, it ran faultlessly in Windows 10 thanks to the compatibility troubleshooter, however, since updating to...

Thank you very much, that fixed it!
  9. Solved Windows Lock Screen custom picture not working

Hi, I'm running 24H2 and have changed the lock screen image to one of my photos having the same dimensions. If I type the Windows key and L, the photo is shown correctly, however, when I start the PC, the lock screen is always the default blue folding image. I know it's not really important...
  10. Solved How can I change the default sounds?

Good news! My workaround seems to have worked but I think yours is just as efficient, if not even more.
  11. Solved How can I change the default sounds?

Good idea. Just from curiosity, have you run scannow since doing that? I don't need to change the ownership of the folder back because Windows already did that when I ran the RestoreHealth command.
  12. Solved How can I change the default sounds?

My original post detailed everything I had done in full, at that particular time. There was nothing else I could have added. What I detailed in my last post were the actions I took after my original post.
  13. Solved How can I change the default sounds?

None of the options in that tutorial work in 24H2 but I think I have discovered why. I wanted to use the sounds I was familiar with from Windows 10 but selecting them from the Windows.old folder made no difference. Even after taking ownership of the Media folder and copy/pasting the sounds...
  14. How can I change the background color on the shutdown screen?

There was nothing wrong with the blue screen in Windows 10. Why, oh why did MS decide to change it to black? It's no biggie but it would be nice to have the option to change it back to blue but I can't find any solution for that. Possible?
