  1. Browser Choice Alliance Open Letter to Microsoft - Enough is Enough

    Interesting… capitalists fighting capitalism..
  2. Solved Often blocked by Cloudflare when using the Edge browser

FWIW - I installed it on my iPad and PC then ran Speedtest with it and my current (paid) VPN provider. It was markedly slower than my paid VPN client on BOTH platforms. Also, the version I installed on Win11 (from cloud flares site) has no “exit” option and sets itself up to auto start with...
  3. How to access NAS which is outside the subnet pool

Thanks, but I’m well aware of the 3 privates network classes and network structures. I did NOT know how much network knowledge the OP had (based on his post) so I kept it simple. I could have said 192.168.1.0/24 but wanted to avoid going down the CIDR rabbit hole. 😁
  4. How to access NAS which is outside the subnet pool

@johnpd - I don't believe you need to shut them off, but a simple disconnect of the switches from the main router would suffice - since they aren't working with static IP's anyway. Once you've change the primary router's IP, (probably requires a power cycle/restart) then DHCP should start...
  5. How to access NAS which is outside the subnet pool

Yes. You'll first need to change the routers BASE IP - they usually arrive as 192.168.1.1 idk why your 3rd node = 0. Default DHCP settings are based off that base IP and are (unless user modified) in the range of 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.255 Gateway would be: 192.168.1.1 subnet mask...
  6. How to access NAS which is outside the subnet pool

That was my first thought too.. Change the DHCP address range back to that used by the original router (not sure why it stopped at 128 tho'?) and.. bingo! Problem solved!
  7. Does Windows "Uninstall Updates" Work

Knowing what “doesn’t work anymore” would help to determine root cause! There’s lots of updates that are force-applied when a user doesn’t do it themselves.
  8. Dual monitors and remote desktop problem.

Doesn’t RDP connection parameters have a screen resolution/size setting? Been a while since I’ve used RDP.
  9. Solved Macrium Reflect X: Delete oldest backup sets when free space is less than ???? GB

I believe it’s the oldest backup located in the backups folder.
  10. RAM addition question

Given the (almost double)increase in recent RAM prices.. now is probably NOT the best time to upgrade. But, 16GB 2400 DDR4 is running around $115 on Amazon for no-name brands. G.Skill and others "name"' brands will run you $150+
  11. Microsoft Office 2024 or Microsoft 365

I have the standalone LTS Office 2024 package (suite?) and it was dirt cheap compared to the O365 version!
  12. Solved Router as wifi extender

Do you have restrictive QOS set on your Router? What brand, model? What does your Router connect to on the ISP side? In the US most ISP's will provide their "router" depending on being Wi-Fi, Cable, Fiber or other type. Their "incoming line" connects to their router. Most are now Wi-Fi enabled...
  13. No audio after coming out of sleep

Check your audio format output settings.. since the last update when I reboot, audio will often default to 24-bit 48,000 Hz vs 24-bit 44,000 Hz ND NO sound! Changing one to the other usually resets the audio and I get sound!
  14. New Outlook.

That looks like the web interface/version - I snapshot the desktop version for you as I don't use their webmail client. Sorry.
  15. New Outlook.

In outlook when you create a new email, there's an "options" menu item up top of hte new email. Under options, you'll find a "from" button that allows you to chose a "from" email - the default or enter another in a popup box!
