  1. Windows 11 24H2+ Compatibility with 8th Gen Intel Platforms

I'm guessing 8th gen platforms are approx 9-10x years old, so not suprising, there are issues, with Win 11 2024+ builds. Shame, as 8th Gen i5 with 16gb DDR4 and nvme drive, can run Win 11, comfortably, for non gaming, none video/music production, just office tasks.
  2. Windows 11 24H2+ Compatibility with 8th Gen Intel Platforms

For customer on tight budget, installed latest Windows 11 build, on Dell 7490 Latitude laptop (8th gen i5, nvme, 16gb DDR4). Install seemed to be fine, then realised Windows reported no audio device installed. Tried installing DELL audio driver, failed. Tried updating BIOS, Win 11 reported due...
  3. Windows 11 LTSC - How many people here are using it?

If my "valid", purchased, key was not working, I would not be installing W11 Home instead !!! I'd be on the phone, to MS.
  4. Windows 11 LTSC - How many people here are using it?

If banks decide to use LTSC/IOT on staff workstations, instead of Windows 11 pro reliability roulette, with their huge Microsoft license budgets, is anyone gonna tell them no, you can't do that !? I think not..:geek:
  5. Windows 11 LTSC - How many people here are using it?

You can download the 90 day evaluation version from MS, for free. Microsoft "provides" the means, to "legally", re-activate the evaluation version, another 2-3x times. After this process, the software actually states "licensed", as opposed to some of the uninformed posts, from the pitch...
  6. Microsoft Azure Linux

"Highly stripped down and minimalist" package support, tells you, this is not worth bothering with. As mentioned previously, Linux on bare metal, on same network, and accessible from Windows box, is having a most unreasonably large slice of cake, brought to your table, and eating it, with...
  7. Microsoft Azure Linux

Not a milestone, in any sense, really, WSL has been running various Linux for a long time. https://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-releases-its-first-server-linux-distribution-azure-linux-4-0/ So nothing to see here. You want a proper Linux experience, install a fully fledged distro, on...
  8. Windows 11 LTSC - How many people here are using it?

I guess a "highly stable, secure, debloated operating system", with "enhanced performance", is just not for some.
  9. Windows 11 LTSC - How many people here are using it?

Currently, Win 11 2024 IOT LTSC Enterprise, is suffice, for my Win 11 needs.
  10. Windows 11 LTSC - How many people here are using it?

RHEL 10.1, is where I do all of my heavy lifting, at Home. Does "Win 11 Pro For Workstations", install as default, with AI slop enabled ?
  11. Windows 11 LTSC - How many people here are using it?

Win 11 2024 IOT LTSC Enterprise has AI/Copilot settings in Registry/Policies, but they are all unused, which apparently means disabled.
  12. Windows 11 LTSC - How many people here are using it?

My "Win 11 2024 IOT LTSC Enterprise" machine, dual boots with RHEL 10.1. RHEL install is my home lab, where I mess with Docker, Podman, Splunk, etc, using containers, so Zeon V4 is bang per buck champion. As regards, to Windows 11, it's just for running Office and WFH, so I've moved to a...
  13. Windows 11 LTSC - How many people here are using it?

Agreed... But good grief.. I'm actually an IT/Linux professional. So, no one on a Windows 11 Forum, will be dictating to me, which version of OS, I choose to use.
