  1. Running Windows in a Docker container - anyone (or Kubernetes)

Using latest VirtualBox, I can run Windows 11 23H2 on Ubuntu 24.04, with crisp performance.. (Xeon 14 core V4, 64gb ram, dedicated VM SSD). I need Windows for remote access to Work, so I use bare metal instead, to ensure no issues with sound/Citrix.

  3. Solved Yesterday's update trashed all of my Microsoft activations

Yes, but the point remains, that MS URL does detail current issues with Windows 24H2, that are not all due to system flaws or "conspiracy theories". All new software versions will require fixes, to remedy flaws, agreed. And many technology professionals, whether at work, or at home, will delay...

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-24h2 Maybe now, you will be a little less liberal, with the term "conspiracy theory", when discussing points of view, that differ from yours. Myself, and a number of others, are aware of numerous issues reported with...
  5. Solved Yesterday's update trashed all of my Microsoft activations

Sure, I'll just continue running 23H2, with it's great performance, and almost error free updating, thanks. I guess you also think reports of Covid vaccine injuries, are also just conspiracies..
  6. Solved Yesterday's update trashed all of my Microsoft activations

Oh, maybe the fact he was running 24H2 !? And also read many reports of similar catastrophic Windows 24H2 update issues !? And not seen this issue reported, regarding 23H2?
  7. Solved Yesterday's update trashed all of my Microsoft activations

Yet another reason, not to run 24H2, in my books. I'm hearing no end, of such woeful tales, regarding this version. Meanwhile 23H2 is just sailing, on my "officially incompatible", hardware..
  8. Windows 11, version 23H2 (repair version)

Yep, Personally think Win 1123H2, belongs in the MS Hall of fame, along with Excel, MS Word, and Windows 2000. 😊
  9. Windows 11, version 23H2 (repair version)

Yes, of course.. I assume, only people with time to waste, are trying to run Win 1124H2, on non SSE4.2 cpus.
  10. Windows 11, version 23H2 (repair version)

Updating Win 11 23H2, to Win 11 24H2, on "unsupported machine", requires specific process. This process works, and I have even verified it on VMs.
  11. Windows 11, version 23H2 (repair version)

How did you initially install Windows?

  13. Microsoft Pulls support for Intel 8th, 9th & 10th Gen Processors for Windows 11 24H2

Yes, I'm aware Apple are even worse than Micro$oft, for forcing h/w upgrades. I only need Windows for Office 365, and Mac OSX is probably the "nicest" OS desktop. However, I do find Macbook Pro hardware, some of the most unreliable/prone to break down, as opposed to Dell or Lenovo. So I'll...
  14. Microsoft Pulls support for Intel 8th, 9th & 10th Gen Processors for Windows 11 24H2

We'll see, what the Micro$oft cpu support shenanigans, actually evaluate to. Maybe I should start "liquidating", some of my 8th gen laptops, while they are still worth something. Also considering cheap Macbook Pro 2018+, for running Office 365.
  15. Microsoft Pulls support for Intel 8th, 9th & 10th Gen Processors for Windows 11 24H2

Next date of decision for me will be 11-11-2025 (Win 23H2 EOL). If I can't install Win 24H2, on Xeon V4 CPU based Machine, via Rufus or Registry ploy, then I'll purchase Dell 5820, for approx £250 GBP. Pretty simple, no drama needed.
