I know this is ridiculously long update since this post (I hate that too), but the fix for me was keeping the service: "App Readiness" as manual. I used to always disable that service, and doing so caused the update not to go through.

Lucky I had already had a system restore point. Only one too — earlier today at 12 pm when I installed Maya. that was the only system restore point present, because as I said, it was already a clean install.

following my clean installation of windows 11, i see this folder in the registry. Googling it brings up no results anybody know what this is and if its safe to delete?

All software back—(had to manually reinstall DirectX runtimes and redistributables but went relatively fast)
Windows Update up-to-date + all optional updates (driver specific (Intel etc.)
