14900K why i am not stable at 4096W

mem tested 24hrs no issues, PSU is a 1200W Corsiar H1200i unit. I did have some odd shutdown issues when trying to open Borderlands 3 (for some odd reason LLC was set to level 5, which was pumping through too much v on the core

GPU is a MSI Suprim X, so this unit uses less than the default RTX 4090 (not using any power adapters, using the Corsair Gen 5 12VHPWR type 4 psu power cable, and the graphics card has barely been used when the errors occur. PC would crash on boot, access violation during general browsing

Yes. That is not good. Did you build this yourself? I would check for bent CPU pins on the motherboard if so. Did you use an aftermarket contact frame for the CPU. If that is the case it may not be seated correctly.

They sand you a new one from what I heard. I do not think there is testing.

Yes, I built it myself, been building computers for years. There are no bent pins (pc was 100% stable for about 6 months), I was so impressed with the performance based on the previous computer I had. Don't use any aftermarket contact frame.

Noticed recently when going into the BIOS, on the first screen that appears, the cpu voltage is in the 1,5 range, this used to be 1.4. i have not modified any settings for this.

Great, let's hope a new cpu gets sent through. Still concerned the same issues could reappear down the line again

1.5v is too high IMO., though at low current, when idle. it is probably OK. I imagine it is idle voltage in you BIOS. But that is concerning. Means your are going to get a lot of heat under load. Does the BIOS have a maximum temperature option. I would set that to 85c.

I set the 85C temperature limit on my Asus Z790 board for my Core i7-13700K CPU. The CPU only hits this temperature running Cinebench and the performance hit due to throttling is only a few per cent. I don't fiddle about with other CPU settings so this is a very simple way of controlling thermal limits for the CPU.
