Hi there

Just 2 little nags in Outlook. The rest of LTSC 2021 is perfectly fine (in fact one of the main reasons I still continue using Windows as anything else isn't IMO anything like as good -- certainly the "EXCEL" clones out there while OK for perhaps a "bog standard" user still leave a lot to be desired - especially for Power users and those who like to get loads of dynamically changing data via Ms Query from databases such as MariaDB/MySQL etc or from the web generally --e.g for stock prices etc.

1) Empty folder seems to always leave 1 item in it rather than move the whole kybosh to the delete / trash folder.

2) Install another language loses outlook view settings -- IMO the program should be sophisticated enough to maintain the same settings (layout, fonts etc) if the 2nd / 3rd language is being installed for the same user.

Neither of these is particularly bothersome but a 100% professional business product should e as polished as possible. Thunderbird (open source and Free) seems to maintain view settings if primary language changes. !!

Cheers
jimbo

In my opinion, MSO is one of the best pieces of software of it's kind, out there, but, Outlook, unfortunately is a terrible mess.

I'd add the inability to save a draft edit it and then save it again.

This is the message I get when I open a saved draft.
Apparently only an issue with IMAP folders, but the workaround isn't too painful and should let you carry on:

STATUS: WORKAROUND

The Outlook Team is investigating this issue. When we have more information, we will update this topic.

To work around the issue, do the following

1. Select Yes to save a copy of the draft email in the Inbox.

2. Navigate to the Drafts folder.

3. Open the Draft email.

4. Edit the email and select save. The edits will be saved to the draft email.

Unable to save changes to a draft email in Draft folder for IMAP accounts

(I wonder if it will ever be "fixed", as that information in more than two years old.)

Yes, its an IMAP issue. This seems to work as I haven't gotten to fail in a few attempts. I am purposefully not updating Office for fear of additional "features" and "fixes".

I found that I can repeatedly edit an email and close it by hitting the X in the top right corner and then when it prompts and asks if you want to save changes hit YES. Do not hit the save buttons just respond to the prompt when you attempt to close it.
