Warning on Cheap Office LTSC 2021 Licenses

You are correct jimbo, Office 2010 x64 (w/ SP1 built-in) installed & activated quickly in Windows 11 Pro.
My copy of SP2 was a .ISO & it installed quickly too.
After a restart WU had 50 O'2010 updates & installed them w/o any fuss.

Think I'll keep it

Well I don't need 6TB of storage but just wondering the cost benefit vs other Office suites with a 1TB external - unless you are a hoarder you don't need most the stuff..
Yeah, I don't need that much either. I have 4 direct family members on my account. Myself, my wife and 2 kids. Each has a 1TB account on OneDrive. We configure our phones to backup all pictures and videos to OneDrive. I have about 120GB of stuff in my OneDrive account at present. I also gave one of my subscriptions to my dad so he too has a 1TB oneDrive account. The other sub is currently unused.

As far as cost comparison to an external drive, a 2TB external drive can be had for about $70. Thus cheaper than 1 year of OneDrive. However, with OneDrive, I have access from my PC's, my phone and my work computer to my files. MS is backing up the files in the cloud and thus far hasn't lost anything. Technically everything I have is on my PC and in the cloud, so I have 2 copies. If my house were to burn down and take my locally stored backups with it, I would still have the copy in the cloud and nothing is lost.

Wow! You guys are big on Cloud Storage, eh?
Never use it, 'cept the 15GB on MobiDrive that came with my Android Office Suite.
Other than that, I've got about a Petabyte of hard drives kickin around here!!!

...as a creator of various things I need every byte I can get. My sound library alone takes a few TB and it is tiny. And let us not forget videos, images and various apps I've created, including databases...and the list goes on... 😂

I am really low on diskspace atm...

Yeah, I do make pretty good use of One Drive. I previously used Dropbox and had about 6GB of free space after referring friends and such. It worked well for me, but i then had a need for Office at home, so decided to just invest in Office 365 because it was pretty much the same price as 1TB of Dropbox at the time, but I got a lot more space and got Office to boot.

I'm careful with what I put into my OneDrive, but for things like pictures and videos from my cell phone it's not a big risk. I also store my notes for technical stuff I do, like how I installed X, Y, Z on Windows, Mac and Linux. I keep backup copies of software that I have purchased in OneDrive for safekeeping. I store copies of my hardware drivers there for each machine I use. I keep records for my automobiles in terms of service being performed, cost incurred and tire rotation information. And I have a shared folder that my dad has access to which makes swapping files back and forth when needed, easy.

The cloud works great for me as I am an IT guy for a living, and I have Windows, Mac and Linux desktops/laptops at home and with Cloud Storage I can easily access all the stuff from 1 place. It's offsite from my house, so if my house were to burn to the ground (my sisters did), then I have copies of my data somewhere else.

I have had my email in the cloud for eons (gmail). And it's always worked, I've never lost anything, and I've never had to back anything up. All of my bookmarks and such for Google Chrome are synced in the cloud, so when I install and sign into chrome on any device I just get my stuff. My passwords and such are in LastPass which is in the cloud and I have a family account that we all use that has worked great for us.

And at work, we use tons and tons of Amazon AWS, and small amounts of Google GCP and Microsoft Azure. Through the use of containers, kubernetes and these cloud platforms, it's totally revolutionized the way we work in IT.
