200 MB Healthy (EFI System Partition) on 4TB drive... can't modify

I don't know what created this, but it's showing in Disk Management for an old external USB hard drive (disk, not SSD), a "WD Elements" drive originally used for its nonsense "backup" software (those pre-installed files have since been deleted, and the drive used for whatever), but now I'm re-formatting it to be a general files backup drive. I'm not seeing why this "allocation" is there or what it's supposed to do or what I should do with it (if anything).



As you can see, I get no options to do anything with the partition. Clicking "Help" just does a Bing Edge search for "windows 10 disk management" (I'm on Windows 11, so the link is outdated obviously). I think the drive was last formatted on Windows 10, but I don't know if that's where the link is coming from.

Anyway, the post is not about the link. I just don't remember running into this before, and you know etc etc etc WTF

how do you wish to modify this EFI partition.

if its to delete the partition use a live Linux USB distro
Ubuntu LTS works well
within the live distro when it boots into the system

open 'disks' which will allow to alter/change/delete this or any other partition.

If this is an external disk that you have just connected and discovered this partition, use something like the free MiniTool Partition Wizard to remove it and format the entire drive to your desired layout.

What partitions are shown in your internal drives?
Does Windows boot successfully with that external disk disconnected?
Was that external disk ever connected during a Windows installation?

I agree with gunrunnerjohn that MiniToolPartitionWizard will be able to delete the unwanted EFI partition.
