I can simply say that I took the red pill and I am not happy with it.
OK, after installing MS Defender Definition Version 1.445.15.0 a few minutes ago I had no issue installing or running 7 Zip ver 26 on three machines including the ARM64 version on one machine. Downloaded from the software site by the way.

Soon, Windows is said to allow only properly signed apps and drivers to run. This is still an experiment, and we don’t know when it’ll become the default behaviour, but it’s being considered, and we might see changes soon.
