Windows 11 Home 25H2 build: 26200.8524
Hi all,

My new Acer Swift 14 AI (SF14‑51T) has crashed three times this year while browsing in Edge with New Windows Outlook running in the background. I initially suspected a Copilot issue.

I’m updated to the latest BIOS and running Windows 11 Home 25H2 build 26200.7922. The crash produced Event ID 41 (Kernel‑Power) but no bugcheck or warnings. I had to abort with the power button; after reboot Edge restored all tabs and no data was lost.

I ran DISM online (no issues) and SFC, which repaired the file:C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\BthHfEnum.sys

Reliability Monitor only shows the unexpected shutdown.

System specs are already published in my profile (System 1).

Looking for help interpreting the logs and confirming whether this is driver/firmware related. Appreciate any comments.

Thanks,

Frank

I will wait a bit longer to populate the dump records and also no BSOD or Black Screen w/ restart happened till today, March 23, so maybe it healed itself, I disabled Fast Startup and changed Power Plan from Custom (Acer) to Balanced, maybe that helped. Installed 2 Windows updates without issues meanwhile.
Update April 18, 2026:
Last night I suspended my laptop (Sleep mode) and this morning it failed to resume from Sleep mode, keyboard only turned on, black screen, had to abort with the power button (took 10 seconds) to shutdown, then the laptop booted normally with 1001 Bug Check Event. This is not a BSOD but a related issue I think?

For the V2 log collector > view the menu bar > click extract all > after the new window appears > run V2 > post a share link

1) Read this link on Windows Driver Verifier (WDV):

Enable and Disable Driver Verifier in Windows 10

2) Create a new restore point

Create System Restore Point in Windows 10

3) Learn the methods to recover from BSOD caused by WDV by booting into safe mode and running one or more of these commands:

verifier /reset

verifier /bootmode resetonbootfail

(option nine and seven)

4) Plan to run the tool with various customized test settings.

a) Test all non-Microsoft drivers

b) Test no Microsoft drivers

c) For the first run of WDV select the 3 customized tests displayed in the TF tutorial

5) Whenever the WDV tool is started if there is no immediate BSOD then open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

verifier /querysettings

Post a share link.

Customized tests will then be posted for the next run of WDV.

WDV can run continuously during the testing.

For any BSOD post a new V2 share link into the newest post.

This is a hard to investigate problem especially of it's randomness.

The first thing that comes to mind is that your PSU can't handle the power the new Acer laptop (a nice one) is asking. Check if your laptop is not overclocked and it's temperature is not to high. It was the right cause off actie to use DISM and SFC to see if there were issue's with Windows engine. It found one driver that needed repairing; BthHfEnum.sys. This "Bluetooth Hands-Free Audio and Call Control HID Enumerator" is known if damaged to produce BSOD and has nothing to do what you are experiencing.

I think you have possibly an other problem; a hardware issue. A possible not very good external PSU that's not up to par. When it's power suddenly drops your system underwent a unexpected shutdown. How does that PSU after a couple of hours feels to the touch? A bit to warm? As this is a new laptop you have still warranty on it, including that PSU. Contact your point of sales and see if they can swap or test this PSU onder heavy load. Personally I think this must be replaced by a new one. Don't think this issue is related to Windows. In the mean time you can visit Acers forum to check if other people had similar issues. It's not uncommon that a PSU of specific design (and series related to a range of serial numbers) were not using good quality components.

Looking at your specs; a 45W PSU? Wow. If have an old school heavy i7 Laptop with a 15,3" wide TFT screen that can draw 200W.... Things sure change.

The 45W Chicony is a GaN (Gallium Nitride) type adapter that I also think is a bit light for this powerful laptop, I also have a 100W regular brick USB-C charger that I can try?

??? If you buy a new laptop a PSU is also supplied with it. In your case not? Yes 45W is a bit on the low side of things. I have looked at the Acer site at this model and Acer says that the max Wattage this SF14‑51T laptop can draw is arround 65W. For the SF14-51T-71 it is 100W. (This range is also called Acer Swift 14??? Funny the official Acer replacement part site does not go higher than the Swift 5....)

So YES that would confirm that this 45W PSU is not suited for this laptop.

The Acer site is not very specific about it's power supply. Just a power supply..... Generic... (no mention of a model)
If you google for a replacement PSU i got thousand and one hits. Power is ranging from the standard 65W to higher. I would recommend a separate 100W power PSU for it to make sure this will never happen again. You can use that USB-C charger for it but... If it's supplying power through an USB port I would not recommend it. It must be attached to the normal socket for the PSU (Watch that the voltage (19V?) and polarity are correct) This PSU must power your laptop but also charge the onboard battery. If you use a USB-C port for it you bypass all kinds of circuitry. I would buy a normal replacement part. They are not that expensive.

I got this laptop from Acer US (freebee) as a reward (Acer Community ACE), When I check adapters for SF14-51T only USB-C bricks (45-65W) are shown no GaN chargers, Like I wrote I have a 100W gaming USB-C charger from ASUS for my VivoBook OLED that I may try if it fails again to resume from Suspend mode.

Hello zbook,
I need to ask for a clear step‑by‑step instruction on how to run Windows Driver Verifier (WDV). I’m worried about getting stuck in a BSOD loop and I don’t want to destabilize the system.

Could you please outline:

How to launch WDV safely (which menu options to choose at the start).

Which customized tests to select for the first run.

How to restrict it to non‑Microsoft drivers only.

How to save and share the output logs once WDV has run?

I’ve already supplied the V2 and Tuneup Plus log collector data, plus all my Event logs, so adding WDV on top feels like a bit of an overkill to me for an Acer US provided brand new laptop. That’s why I want to be sure it’s really warranted in my case before attempting it.

Also, I noticed your references to “Option 7” and “Option 9.” The TenForums tutorial you linked does not actually contain those option numbers, which is very misleading. From what I understand, those numbers come from the internal wizard screens, not the tutorial text. Could you please clarify this so that laymen like me don’t get confused?

I’ve used msconfig.exe many times in Safe Mode, but WDV looks far more complicated. A clear sequence of steps would help me avoid mistakes. Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Also what custom WDV options you want me to run?

I created a new restore point but have not started WDV yet

Hello zbook,
I need to ask for a clear step‑by‑step instruction on how to run Windows Driver Verifier (WDV).

Please see the tutorial.

I'll provide steps for safety (restore points, regback, etc.)
Make free or pay backup images as needed.

Learn how to recover from WDV BSODs:

option #9 and #7

How to launch WDV safely (which menu options to choose at the start).

See tutorial.

Which customized tests to select for the first run.

See tutorial:

[ ] 0x00000010 I/O verification.
[ ] 0x00000200 Force pending I/O requests.
[ ] 0x00000400 IRP logging

or

verifier /flags 0x00000610 /driver *!microsoft* ------> reboot to run

How to restrict it to non‑Microsoft drivers only.

The computer user can use GUI (check boxes), or run commands.

How to save and share the output logs once WDV has run?

If no BSOD -----> run verifier /querysettings > post a share link

If BSOD -----> post a new V2 share link into the newest post

I’ve already supplied the V2 and Tuneup Plus log collector data, plus all my Event logs, so adding WDV on top feels like a bit of an overkill to me for an Acer US provided brand new laptop. That’s why I want to be sure it’s really warranted in my case before attempting it.

There are various scripts / tools to workup computer problems.

Also, I noticed your references to “Option 7” and “Option 9.” The TenForums tutorial you linked does not actually contain those option numbers, which is very misleading.

Option Nine

Boot to Advanced Startup (WinRE) from a Hard Reboot

This option can be handy if you are unable to boot into Windows.

1 Press and hold the power button on your PC until it powers off.

2 Press the power button on your PC to turn it on.

3 Repeat steps 1 and 2 above until you see the Windows logo screen, Please wait, or Diagnosing your PC message during boot like below. Usually it may take repeating up to 3 times. (see screenshots below)

WinRE starts automatically after detecting the following issues:

Two consecutive failed attempts to start Windows.
Two consecutive unexpected shutdowns that occur within two minutes of boot completion.
Two consecutive system reboots within two minutes of boot completion.
A Secure Boot error (except for issues related to Bootmgr.efi).
A BitLocker error on touch-only devices.

Option Seven

Boot to Advanced Startup (WinRE) from Windows 11 Installation USB

The Reset this PC option in "Troubleshoot" and Startup Settings option in "Advanced options" will not be available using this option.

1 Boot from your Windows 11 installation USB.

2 Perform an available step below: (see screenshots below)
  • (OLD) Select your language, time and currency format, and keyboard or input method preferences, and click/tap on Next.
  • (NEW) Select your Language to install and Time and currency format, click/tap on Next, select Keyboard or input method, and click/tap on Next.

Microsoft had decided to deprecate the WDV GUI menu.

The date that this will happen has not been published.

For the GUI boxes are checked or unchecked.

For the commands I'll post them for you to run.

A reboot activates the WDV commands to run.

Hi zbook
I ran Verifier 48 hours and no BSOD, no Mini dumb
Checked also with Acer US and I am using the correct PSU for this laptop (65W GaN USB-C charger)
