Does Windows 11 now support all Adobe Reader updates through the Windows Updates?

Is there a planned feature for this?

No. I doublt whether Adobe are planning to do this.

I am not sure if Adobe Reader is included, but I use UniGetUI which updates a lot of applications on my PC. Try and see:

When new updates are available, inspect the list carefully and uncheck the boxes for the ones you prefer to update manually. Click to update selected applications. If all those checked you prefer to update manually, click on Ignore selected applications and they will be always skipped.

There are other similar utilities, such as Chocolatey. If I remember correctly, this one includes Adobe Reader:

No, not via Windows updates, however it maybe possible if you install it from the MS Store.

Maybe it's not a very good idea. I have read that some apps have limited functionality when installed from Microsoft Store compared to the desktop version.

Functionality is the same, according to Adobe, the difference is in the update manager. I am a regular user and get it directly from Adobe, happy with manual updating.

Yes, no big deal. An average user won't see any difference from one version to the other. Only the different user interface in version X and XI vs DC.

PS: If you are confused by the new interface you can return to the legacy interface in DC. Also Adobe Updater should automatically keep Adobe Reader to the latest version. No need to include it in Windows Update.

Win32 apps currently on Store already have their own self-updaters and don't rely on MS. If you look at the list, the usual suspects are there (Adobe, Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.).

Second-class support for Win32 is why Windows Store is a commercial failure (outside of Xbox Game Pass).
