Advice needed on Luts

I really know nuts about Luts.

The only software I use to enhance my photos is Photomatix (using precets), HDR Project 9 and ACDSee Pro.
Luts 1 is offered as a free giveaway today.

Can it make my images look better color wise?

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

There are plugins for photo/video software, LUTs plugins. Wheres the standalone app?

Isn't the Luts a diagram ("Luts Diagram") used in a gonculator?

LUTS = Look Up Tables (for color). The term is usually used to refer to the hardware lookup table in a monitor. Some monitors have LUTS that can be modified for correction in tandem with calibration software and a puck you put on the monitor that measures the color response to colors the software displays. This makes your monitor color accurate (if it is capable) and will crate a profile that you can load into the monitor when it boots.

This is not that and a misuse of the terminology to sell the product IMO.

I doubt the hue etc. settings from one photo would really apply to another photo due to ambient light temperature differences etc. Personally it would not be something I would find useful.
