I use AI all the time. I use it for difficult questions and for simple clarifications (like: “what does IMAP mean?”).
My favorite way of accessing AI and saving it as a usable document that I might expand has been using Microsoft Edge. It created a CoPilot sidebar that would Export the returned text and all the references, neatly formatted, in Word, Pdf, or Text Format… (Edge’s “recent history” dropdown and endlessly lengthy History Page is also a great way to look up previous lookups).
The Edge/CoPilot relationship changed. CoPilot's “Export” changed into a pathetic “Copy” and the association between Edge and its CoPilot seems now to have disappeared completely. (the Edge's now inserted into the sidebar is potentially useful but it’s no reason to have taken CoPilot away.)
Yes, I can call up CoPilotPre directly from my Task Bar (Does “CoPilot (preview)” mean they’re going to start charging for using it?) but it only Copys (doesn't Export) AND does so excluding the reference sources.
I’m not interested in having AI write a poem, draw a picture, sing a song, debate a topic, or juggle—just answer a question, backing it up with references.
In your opinion, what is the most convenient way to consult AI when you’re expecting a formatted answer with references?
