Alienware R11 Firmware Updater Blocked by OS

Normally I do firmware updates my Alienware R11 by downloading the update installer from the Dell Downloads site but today when I did that I had a surprise. The updater afudell.exe was blocked by Memory Integrity in Core Isolation. After I turned Memory Integrity off and rebooting every attempt to run the updater resulted in no activity whatsoever. No warnings, no messages, nothing. I was able to install the firmware update through Windows Update but I wondering why Windows 11 has decided to block the manufactures updating programs? Anyone else having this issue?

I have memory integrity on. Just last night I used Dell Command Update to update bios. I did not have to disable memory integrity for the update to apply.

Yes, I updated the firmware on a Dell lappy a few days ago normally. I wonder what's different about the R11?

Just a guess... but DELL probably made a deal with MS that Alienware refused to make?

Do you have the same version of Windows (build number), on both comps?

Alienware is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dell. (Since 2006.) Not sure how much distance exists between Dell's products and Alienware's. I believe that if you want an AMD CPU, you'd have to buy an Alienware PC.

Assuming you did the updates properly, then I would guess it's something to do with corporation politics.

There’s really nothing you can do wrong, you download the updater, you double click one it to run it, then sit back and the PC reboots and updates the firmware. I’ve been doing that in this PC for 2 years. What’s odd is there’s no error message or anything, it just doesn’t run. Mighty odd.
