I just downloaded the newest firmware updater for my WD19TB dock (file DellDockFirmwarePackage_WD19_WD22_Series_HD22_01.00.20.exe released on Jan 4th). My device is XPS 9500 (latest BIOS 1.25.0) running Windows 11 Pro 23H2.
I'd expect the standard firmware utility to be brought up when running the exe, but it's not the case. Instead, there's no GUI at all and something is apparently working in the background. All I see as a result is a message telling me the system needs to be restarted to finish the installation of the DBUtilDrv2 Device.
After restart nothing happens and I cannot find out if the FW has actually been updated and what its current version is.
Have any of the Dell users here encountered a similar issue? Possibly you managed to overcome it...
