I will never understand the fear mongering from people. Google, apple, microsoft, heck every company collects diagnostic and telemetry data. None of that is new. It is easily viewable. Reading the privacy policies will inform you quite well of what they are doing and collecting.
There are legit things that are worrysome, like Microsoft’s recall.
I keep saying this, but privacy has been dead a long time. They don’t need to use telemetry to spy on you. Browser fingerprinting, ads, nearby phones and devices etc, they can use a large collection of information to collect a profile and then use this to anticipate what you want even without knowing exactly who you are.
If you’re paranoid, you should get off the internet because that is truly the only way to have some privacy.
Back when the Snowden leaks happened, and nothing was really done about it, that was a form of acceptance shown from the general public. So the status quo continued.
Unless your government has strict laws on it but even then it is meaningless.
But perhaps this thread should be split off into the discussion it has actually become.
