From my experience, 2FA is only required on their site if you have an 'Active Savings' (cash) account. Move that elsewhere- and you're back to no 2FA.

I was talking to my mobile phone service provider yesterday. As part of an 'endless' series of verifications she asked me to provide the last 4 digits of a frequently called number - family or friends.

a. I have no family- everyone died off.
b. I call people using my landline

But I do use my smart phone- 2FA, banking etc, some uses in town- but faced with a museum where QR codes are required to learn more, I refuse!

I was annoyed by this just yesterday, and folks who know me know I almost never get annoyed. I was looking at a list from my kid's school of things to do in prep for the new year. It was a normal document, in outline form basically, until you get the to the bottom, where there is a QR code for another document.

Of course I know how to read a QR code on a PC, without a phone, but lots of people will be on their computer, then have to scan the code with their phone, so now they're looking at two documents on two different devices. Or, they're looking at the first document on their phone, and they have no idea how to deal with the QR code from the phone since they can't scan it with the camera.

Yes there ways to deal with both scenarios, but most people don't know what they are. Just put a link to the second document in the first, or get wild and crazy, and paste the second document into the first.

Must have changed very recently because I had looked not long ago. Perhaps they phase the lifetime in and out as a promotional.

I use Bitwarden for my password manager. I do miss my flip phone from early 2000's.
