I tried the Chrome browser a while ago as it took up less resources than Edge, However I gone back to Edge and am now getting these annoying popups from Google (see pic) and am wondering how I can get rid of these popups which only insert another one once I delete any one of these pop ups from the side of the screen leaving me with three static pop ups.
Any ideas please really appreciated.POPups.jpg

It sounds like an issue with the push notifications feature in Chromium based browsers (which includes MS Edge). Please see if the instructions in this Malwarebytes Labs article help or not.

Thanks Porthos I tried the MBAM article but it just seemed to go down that rabbit hole again. What I don't get is why these Google popups actuate do so while in Edge as they obviously come from Google??

I use Edge and don't get these, could it be an extension you have enabled? Do you get it on all websites?

If you click on the 3 dots, do you get an option to maybe turn off notifications for those? Or, in Edge, go to Settings and search for notifications and see if Chrome is in that list.

Chromium-based browsers always run by default in the background. The notifications will pop up even when Chrome is closed.

Also, in Chrome, go to the 3 dots and choose Extensions. Disable or Remove any Extension you are not familiar with.

Ok folks I have now installed the Brave browser and find it very quick so much less intrusive and it uses only half of the memory resources that Edge and Chrome did and will be sticking to it now.

I am a big fan of Mozilla (Fire Fox) i have used it forever ! Our Malware Teachers recommended it to us for our searches ! I tried Brave and all the others & none compared to FF !! IMO

Yes ate well as I said each to his own I am going to keep on using Brave on my main laptop until I find any stick out problems with it.

Don't forget to turn off notifications in Brave so it does not end up like Chrome.

Ok mate I have just tried setting that up but cannot find the notifications mentioned in the Brave settings - any thoughts on this please?
