It just occurred to me to wonder whether you can download the Professional Trial-with-Bootable-USB-maker, then get and use the Freeware edition and continue to use the bootable USB after the Professional Trial dies (or you cancel it). Anybody know?

Most likely posibilities:
either the trial boot media will refuse to function, or it will offer to restore image only.

I used Acronis for years, I think I still have ver. 2009 all the way to ver. 2021 and it only let me down probably 5 times, and those was on trying to recover a tib. So I decided to try a duplicator, many of my friends have had them for a couple years, I never really even researched them I just went and bought a couple of them. I will say this, they have been flawless, and so easy and fast to use, once you ever buy one, you will be banging your head against the wall, for not doing it sooner.

If you use an M.2 drive, it's easier to clone/duplicate if you install it on a card, trying to get one off the board and back on, could cause a lot of hair loss, well if you have any. :-)

I could be wrong, but I believe I looked at that one, but it would not do M.2 to M.2 only M.2 to SSD, or the other way around, but it would be good for docking.

I have that 4 bay. It’s quite good but loud if I use the fan. Obviously hasn’t got the M.2
Speed is good, two of the SSD’s I have in it I use for Adobe Swap drives without issue.

yes exactly it is only one of each. one sata and one nvme.

if it had two sata bays and two nvme bays it would cover most needs

I have one of these by Sabrent. 5 drive bay, individual drive on-off, hot swap, USB-C, USB-C pass-thru port. Even though it is USB-C, the internal switching is USB-3, so you can only get about 500 MB/s (or two disk drive) aggregate speed. It suits my needs well though. Sabrent makes some pretty good quality stuff.

There is a newer version that supports raid.
