Hi folks
I've got a US wilks 52cc gas (petrol) powered strimmer -- but it's got one of those new fangled strimmer heads -- I can't make headsor tails of how to reload the spool. Seems all you need to do is push one end of the strimmer line through a hole in the side, until it comes out of the other end and then rewind until you have the desired lengths.

I can never get the line to appear the other side so ????

I've a phd in engineering (elec) so if I can't make what should be a simple piece of kit work how do the majority do it.

I used to have a STIHL strimmer and although reloading the spool was fiddly it worked -- but I needed a new strimmer -- the US Wilks one was ideal as I'd have had to wait 3 months for a STIHL strimmer -- but while the machine is excellent - I've no idea on how to reload the wretched spool with the strimming cord (nylon).

Surely there must be some gardeners here !!!

cheers
jimbo

    I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.
I prefer heads with clip on blades - much less fiddly.

Hi there
Thanks

That model of spool (and many similar) will also fit on my machine -- works perfectly -- thanks for the link

@cereberus
I have some saw blade attachments etc - but for my garden (after loads or "lazy re-wilding" strimmer nylon cord is the best solution for the job I need to do (other than employing a gardener -- too expensive and inconvenient. !!!!

Cheers
