Are you using eTVB? That seems to be the main event. My recommendation would be not to update. And if you do have eTVB enabled in bios, I would disable it.

I have a ASUS Z790 ProArt Creator Motherboard, the latest bios version is 2402, which seems to contain the same fixes your bios version has. I have noticed no adverse effect, but no real improvement in stability either. These 13 and 14th gen processors are a mess. Extremely disappointed in my upgrade choice. Intel are not too keep to RMA my CPU and claim it could take a month to get a replacement, absolute BS

I don't use eTVB (I think). The only settings affecting the CPU and memory I make are these:

  • Set Maximum CPU Core Temperature of 85C
  • SVID Behaviour - Typical Scenario gives lower temperature than Intel Fail Safe
  • Enable XMP 1 memory
The performance hit on Cinebech is only a few percent for a safe operating temperature.

I posted on the Asus forum and one person is getting BSODs with this BIOS update which has convinced to wait a while to see if another update is released soon.

I've got an Asus ProArt Z790 running the previous bios release 2302 (2402 is out) and have no stability issues currently nor CPU temperature problems. I've never had the issues many have had with Raptor Lake processors so only update the bios after every 2nd or 3rd release depending on what has changed.

I don't fiddle around with bios settings or updates unless necessary.

I ran Cinebench R23 just now (multi core) maximum temperature was 77 degrees Celsius.

After a few days testing I have gone back to bios version 2302, far more stable and pc is more responsive on this bios version.

I have a solid Asis Strix Z90 with Intel 13900 CPU. I am really not wanting to update the bios anymore. mine runs fine. other than have a sucky old 2080-ti video card, it does really well. Very hesitant to look at another bios update.
