So I need bitlocker recovery code from my MS account. I goto my desktop system, log in and proceed to wait for the data to populate. I does not. I click on devices, again. just blank. like it's trying to load something. I click on security and see view my devices and again...blank.

WTF is going on with MS. Can't code crap anymore. Oh wait, I guess its ai can't code crap ever. They need to get their heads out of their rectums and get some real people hired back to fix the absolute mess that Satya has created with his Ai over everything mentality.

My laptop is now a brick waiting to get my code which will take god knows how long from them, and I have important meetings that I need to attend this afternoon. FFS.

Here in Atlanta the Microsoft Account site is currently down. Microsoft.com is up and working fine, it's just the account site that's experiencing problems.

If I log on to my MS account it says I have no devices to display. But if I go to linked devices it shows 3 of the 4 devices I have.

an computer should be 100% useable offline...... and be usable online if you get your account hijacked or the servers is down.

I have always in secret since win11 wished for MS to go down globally, just to see how many world wide that cant use their computers

Got into the site this morning and my laptop is back online. PHEW. I was using linux and I do like how fast and light it is, but I need the software I need to do our work. It's not on linux natively and the work around version is not reliable at all so back on windows.

I need windows for four things. Adobe acrobat Pro, Photoshop, MS-Excel (for some sheets that has MS© macros i get once a month) and a digital ID card software for a secure login i need a couple a times a month.
But... i use Linux for everything else.. Linux is safer to browse the net with, as you say its more lightweight.
So i have two solutions..
i have a laptop with win8.1, this one is about to be upgraded to windows 10 IoT (with support to 2032 i think.) as my digital ID software just went belly up on win8. *LOL*
Right now I'm running that Win10 IoT in a VM on Linux so i can finalize all tweaks before a bare-metal transfer.

So solutions for you if you ever want to both have the cake and eat the cake.. 😋🍰
Run windows on a separate older laptop for the few things you need windows too and Linux as daily driver on the better hardware, or.....
Run windows in a VM with KVM/QEMU or another VM engine you like better, or.....
Make a dual boot system.. But some windows update just love to sabotage the Linux bootloader, :rolleyes:

So VM or separate machine is less risky from windows updates messing up the bootloader..

I have to say that running Windows in a VM for my few things is pretty lazy.. so i think i will use this for a while before throwing it over on bare-metal.😇
