An illegal immigrant has squatted in my cat's heated condo and nothing I do (or my cat's squalling) will run him off. He's a youngster who discovered he can get a free meal using the doggie door to get to the dog feeder in the garage, and then on to the front porch to park his ass on my cat's heating pad. I've put up with it for about a month now. I love critters (and his little beady eyes are so sad), but the cat squalling has to stop. As much as I hate to do it, I'll have play like Greg Abbot and bus him to someone's sanctuary barn. He's a cute-ugly little sucker though, isn't he?

Catching him is no problem while he's in the cat-box. I've just been too soft-hearted to dump a teen-ager out in the cold. (yeah, I know. When it comes to animals, I have serious mental issues) If I could muzzle that jealous cat, the critter could keep the box until winter's over. The cat doesn't WANT the box, he just doesn't want the possum to have the box and squalls like it's mating season. The internet says possums hate the smell of peppermint, so I'm trying that today. My luck I'll still end up with a squalling cat and a possum with the freshest breath in town.

PS ~ The reason I mentioned the warden, was that they would likely lend you a box trap, the come and relocate him for you, if you wanted. ;)

We have various squatters under our deck - racoon and possum. Our dogs go They eventually go away. Here is a cutie baby caught in the daylight from under the deck. They weren't there long.
