Windows 11
I have a .NET program that I have been running for several days. It invokes an .EXE (authored by me) and some .DLL files. This is on Windows 11 Home.

My program suddenly stopped working. The failure is not consistent. Sometimes it is because of an .EXE and sometimes a .DLL. The error message is that the execution will not be allowed because of an Application Control policy. I cannot run secpol.msc because this is Windows 11 Home edition. Since the problem appeared spontaneously this might be due to a update to Windows. I have changed nothing in my application.

Other than purchasing a new version of Windows 11, what else should I try?

My Computer

System One

  • OS
    Windows 11
I tried this ...
  • In Settings, Privacy and Security, Windows Security
  • Go to App & browser control.
  • Click on Smart App Control and set to OFF.
This seems to solve the problem so I will mark this solved.
