I think the centering was just change for change sake.

That's probably what I hate most about the Start button being center aligned. It's a moving target. Whereas being left aligned, I always know where it is and can click on it blindly.

MS's original argument for centering the Start button is pretty weak!
I have 3 Ultrawide, and 2 4K monitors..., the mouse travel to get to the bottom left corner is not spraining my wrist!

To get my cursor from the middle of the monitor to the Start button, my mouse only has to move 1¼"!

It's been years since I clicked an "on screen" START button. Years ago I learned that the Windows Key does the same thing and it's always on the keyboard right under my fingertips. I don't have to stop what I'm doing, move a mouse cursor and click it. All I have to do is tap the Windows Key. It's way more efficient.

I have a bit of an advantage having learned to touch type years ago. I touch type at more than 100WPM. I use the keyboard accurately at the stream of thought.

Thanks to someone earlier in the thread showing me how to do it without 3rd party software, I'll remember that tip.

I was laughing loudly. I believe I remember this game. I loved DOS. Hours of fun trying to screw with 640K of memory

This game probably came on 16 floppy disks lol 😂
