As much as I like Edge, I'm going back to Firefox as my primary browser for one reason...

Windows 11 RP
The flashbang Edge produces on startup / new tab.
I use dark mode in Windows, and that brilliant flash of white is very disconcerting, to say the least.
Multiple web searches offer no solution, as far as I can see, nor does this seem to be a major concern.

I don't recall when this started, but it has been there for at least a few versions now.
Edge is not the only thing. The new Task manager's search bar has the same white flash every time I open it.
File Explorer flashes white the first time it is opened after a reboot.

It's enough to drive one back into the arms of Windows 10.

I see it also in Chrome as well. It happens in Win 10 as well.
So, this has been a long-standing issue. A Chromium issue, it seems.

I agree it flashes the bright light first even if you are on dark mode. Microsoft does not care and will most likely never fix this. If you are in a dark room it abouts blinds you. If you are in dark mode it should be in dark mode.

I have Chromium [not Google Chrome] on my desktop, don't have the issue.
