My position is the DAC should never be plugged into a sub because the sub does not produce the full range frequencies a standard speaker would, so you are in effect throttling the DAC.

I agree with this. Just split the audio source. One for DAC and one for sub? Don't daisy chain the DAC and the sub to get the full effect of the sub. The sub should get a "raw" audio signal.

I don't have that luxury! My DAC is my audio source! It's just a thumb drive DragonFly, not a big fancy thing like you guy's have.

If he probably sell his speakers and this DAC, he just needs a few dollars more to acquire a more capable audio system. Just something to think about. :)

@Edwin, nice skin.

I was at a record store yesterday, and they had a Techniques turntable that piqued my interest, but the store said it was on commission and they had to call the owner to see what they wanted. It wasn't that important to me though as I still have my Denon DP-47F turntable in its original box. I just need to get a new cartridge for it, and then find a place to set it.
