I just thought about it, but I could also be the Cookin With the Miles Davis Quintet, as that's one that might garner $250 for the vinyl (I'm not paying it, but...). Anyway, that too is in my Miles CD collection. It's the white background cover with a black outline of Miles's blowing the trumpet. That one was recorded in 1957.

In fact, it's from a set of 4 releases - Cookin' (1957), Relaxin' (1958), Workin' (1959), and Steamin' (1961) over a 5-year period, though all the material on those albums were done in two sessions in NY in 1956 (May & October).

Until they let you know in no uncertain terms, they don't appreciate it - especially where I'm playing EDM where the bass is rattling, and I'm imbibing :mad:

But yeah, I prefer the intimacy of headphones, and why I've not invested in high end speakers (yet) :cool:

Anyway, I should have my new headphone amp by the middle of March. I have to order it from Vinshine Audio (Denafrips) in China, as they're the only distributer and they're closed for the Chinese New Year until Feb 19.

I'll have to check that out to see what it's about.

BTW, you might take note Miles ended up more rock (rock/jazz) than jazz, especially since moving into his "electric period and towards the 70's with albums like Bitches Brew, Live Evil, which is basically a rock album.

In fact, for the "rockers" I'd recommend Bitches Brew, Live Evil, A Tribute To Jack Johnson, even on Star People with the track Speak (Mike Stern, John Scoffield). John McLaughlin also plays on some of those albums mentioned above, especially Bitches Brew and Live Evil. Even Get Up With It has some nice rock jams - Billy Preston, Honky Tonk.

Miles actually liked Rock and was intrigued by it, and I suspect why he was too happy to go electric. Some of his live albums like The Lost Quintet, Agharta, Pangea, are basically hectic long drawn-out rock jams.

Also, on the album Get Up With It, check out Rated X, which is basically an organ tune by Miles. Also plays organ on He loved Him Madley ;-)

Damn good with the Sennheiser HD800S.

In fact, the HD800S perform much on the DAC than the HD700. Far more dynamic range. Definitely can't wait to get a new headphone amp.
