Hello,
Is it possible to automate a pre-installed Windows 11 (24H2)?
We buy PC's with W11 pre-installed, and I was wondering, if there is a way to automate all the answers such as, language, region, keyboard, username,...

I am aware of the unattended.xml and it works well when installing the PC from scratch.

Is there a tool ???

Thanks for your answers, and hints.

are you on a domain? or will you have hands on these PCs being being implemented into the environment? you can push it out via GPO if its domain...

If you're not part of a domain, then you have two options:
- Re-install from your own image, that's been sysprepped or has its own unattend.xml
- Re-sysprep the PC from OOBE

1. Enter audit mode from the first OOBE screen, by hitting Ctrl-Shift-F3.
2. Connect an USB drive.
3. Copy an answer file (with oobeSystem settings) to "C:\Windows\System32\sysprep\unattend.xml".
4. Restart OOBE with "sysprep /oobe /reboot".

Some of this could be automated with an autorun.inf on the USB drive, and waiting for audit mode before plugging in the drive.

I haven't created one in a while, but you should be able to do all or most of this with a provisioning package.

Which mafia family? Are you a "made man?"
It was a reference to a vicious accusation leveled at me by a more senior member. I'm not in any mafia. Mostly because no one wants to work with me.

Pssst, no one tell @hsehestedt, he might get distracted from his current toolkit...
Oh no, now you've done it :-). I know nothing about provisioning packages or Configuration Designer, etc. but this thread comes at a time when I happen to have a small break in the action.

I guess that this is a rabbit hole I can go down and start educating myself on something new. Plus it seems like the logical next step.

Thanks, garlin :-)

- Re-sysprep the PC from OOBE

1. Enter audit mode from the first OOBE screen, by hitting Ctrl-Shift-F3.

Fantastic ! that's works !
