Hello. I have a crucial x6 backup drive. I've been using it for awhile now. I plug it in once a month and tell it to "run now" and it completes backing up within minutes. Suddenly, nothing. I select run now and the response says the device is backing up, and I can hear some rumblings, but when I check file history nothing is updated. And it just sits there saying it's backing up. There are a few odd issues going on since Windows last backup, so I'm wondering if others are having this problem. I will have my IT folks take a look, but wanted to check here first.

Probably the easiest way to check the X6, is to have a look at it with Crystal Disk Info (free).
The "ZIP" version is the portable version (no install required).

At a glance (RED box), you can check the drive health...

If the "new" PrtSc key function is not to your liking... here is how to set it back to it's classic function...

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
Oops. I meant Windows latest update, not backup, but you got that. I'm not keen on looking into this myself, so will call local computer tech. Just wanted to know if mine is an isolated case.
Thank you.

Well. Microsoft had another update just now. Crucial backed up, but, bloody hell, it duplicated items in my hundreds of folders. I'm going out of my mind. Sorry. Calling tech now :(

IT told me that Windows File History program is known to make duplicates of files, even if they have not changed:
