Background picture is not stable

Windows 11
I set the background as my picture, and it stays for a few hours, then it switches to solid black.

I ran the daily command:

sfc /scannow

My Event Viewr does not show an error.

Is there a script I can run to prevent that switch?

Best Regards Moisey O

Hello, :alien:

You could try using the group policy in the tutorial below to prevent changing the desktop background to hopefully stop this.

Hmmm, this post caught my attention cause I have a similar issue on one of my machines. My desktop background also goes to solid black occasionally and it seems very random but I have mine set to slideshow. If I cycle the background by selecting "next desktop background" from the right context menu or go into settings and reset it all goes back to normal. That machine is on build 26100.4484 by the way.

Someone on Reddit mentioned a hack where you set the first picture of Slideshow as your intended background, and then change it back to Picture. This somehow preserves the background from switching.

Problem is I want mine to change as I like the slideshow, I just don't know why occasionally out of the blue it goes to a black background.
