Windows 11 Home removed s mode
Dear 11 Forums,
I use Acronis 2020(Perpetual license)true image for my Win 10 computers. I won't buy Acronis for 11...

I see the old win 7 Windows image backup is suggested on the web.

I only need to backup the computer as is after I got it setup the way I want it.

I really don't have any personal files, it's just used for browsing(Chrome)

Ty,

Where? Even MS suggests to use 3rd party app for a system backup.
I myself use a free EaseUS Todo, because pre-os is free, unlike in others.

The Windows built in tool is a deprecated feature and MS recommend using 3rd party tools.

There are several good options e.g. Macrium Reflect Free, AOMEI Backupper, Easus Todo Free.

The leading favourite on this forum is Macrium Reflect which if you can use Acronis, you will easily adapt to Macrium Reflect. The other tools are perhaps more intuitive for backup beginners but less flexible overall.

It's another Microsoft Optional Paranoia option presumably aimed at business users, turned on in the Local Group Policy Editor. Just means it's using a font that hasn't been installed in the %windir%/Fonts directory.

Not aimed at home users I would say.

10 forums howto should still be the same for 11 Enable or Disable Untrusted Font Blocking in Windows 10

ty,

Are you referring to my post-----> "please explain further?"

Way OT:
Those Pesky credentials...
I used to be able to access all comps on my home network, at a minimum they could all access my win 10 pro( System I'm on now)

Now (past year or so) all computers ( the New win11 that replaced--> his old win10 off line forever, and (2) win10's) ask for credentials / user name/ password...

My settings are all on network discovery/ disabled password protection etc. / private...

I'm sure I've tried using his email/passwords to no avail.

Looking at the credentials on current computer there are no passwords on web credentials, or on win 11 computer.

There several Entries under the windows credentials tab with my email, and the other computers email and passwords *****
(On All computers)

I have pin and log on passwords disabled on all computers...

Question is: how to get around it, so I can mainly just copy /paste files to new 11 computer, and other win 10 computer?

I Never had much luck with changing/ adding permissions...

Can I delete the windows credentials that show emails w the ***** for passwords?

I don't let computers synch through MSFT account...

Back OT: Fwiw I only do full system backups to USB and or External HDDs, no incremental backups, and or differential backups.

TIA

ts
