Solved Backup solutions (15 months retention, plus daily)

I asked this question in July but I have finally come to the end of a cycle and I am able to restart my backup plan.
I need to saved 15 months of backups (financials need to be saved)
I need to be able to find changes to a file in all those 15 months. So if on 5/1 I find a file missing or edited incorrectly I need to be able to go back and find where it was changed or when it was deleted, and get the file from the day before.

I have used Easeus Todo this for the last year and have now stored all 10 TERAbytes on a platter drive, just in case... the backups were huge.
I have now pared down what I'm backing up. I was using an unnecessary system of backing up so it will be smaller now.

What are thoughts on how to back up 15 months / daily? I know that I will back up to 2 HDs in the main PC and on Fridays I'll take all backups off-site on a separate drive.
I think the full backup will be 10gb.

Frankly, this forum is really a domestic user forum.

Just making large image backups is like stuffing everything somewhat randomly into a cupboard. However trying to find a particular file version is thus also somewhat random.

What you are seeking is more inline with commercial needs.

You should seek expert advice from professional service/backup solution providers.

You should be looking into file synchronisation tools with version control, probably using NAS/Raid configurations with multiple redundancy.

The key question is NOT "can you afford to have such solutions?" BUT "can you afford NOT to have such solutions?"

In the end, it all comes down to how valuable the data is. I would not be exaggerating if I said companies/individuals could be wiped out financially if a data loss disaster arose.

I read in once of you other threads you have an accounting business. IMO your needs go way beyond a personal backup solution. @cereberus is right. You need to be using professional backup services.

Thank you but this is a small office. We are literally one PC with a couple PCs porting into it. Yes, the data is valuable and, it's backed up several ways, I'm just looking for the best to continue doing so.

Agreed...looking for a changed or missing file takes some work but it's only happened twice in 15 months and I only spent 20 minutes looking. My backups were GIANT but that is not really indicative of what I needed to back up. as I was backing up files that did not need daily or even monthly backup.

Well, then I advise you buy a subscription to Macrium Reflect VX as that is still the best genetal purpose imaging tool WITH excellent customer support. You can backup OS and apps, files and folders etc. You may need to buy a multi user lcence pack.

Rather sadly File History would have done exactly what you want, but seems to have been abandoned. It may have been too flaky for your needs anyway.
