bitlocker password

hello
my collegue left the company and his windows 11 with bitlocker has a password and I dont know what it is...he will not tell me......so I can get the password once I'm past bitlocker.......but ... I cant get past it, every which way I turn I try to get to c drive cmd I am blocked.....so who knows how ?

Without a BitLocker password, there is not much you can do if you were login to Windows 11 then i'm sure there is a way to recover the password.

yes your right you can recover the password from control panel......however in order to hack the windows password i need to get to cmd....bitlocker stop you accessing C:\windows\system32.....there is a way with the manage-bdm but i can find the method........

You can remove the bitlocker lock on the drive by booting from installation media and using diskpart from a command prompt at boot. Then clean install windows. Detailed instructions here. After bitlocker is removed from the drive, during the installation process make sure to delete all partitions and install windows on unallocated space.

If bitlocker is so easy to circumvent, what use is it?

The circumvention means they end up with a working computer, but they do NOT end up with the original user's personal files... that's the point of it.

Be aware the main purpose of BitLocker is to protect data, not a drive. with that in mind, note this in linked above...

* CAUTION: THE BELOW PROCEDURE WILL DELETE ALL THE STORED DATA ON THE LOCKED DRIVE. PROCEED ONLY IF YOU CANNOT UNLOCK THE BITLOCKER PROTECTED DRIVE/COMPUTER.

While you might be able to move the drive from on PC to another, as long as the drive is BitLocker, the data is encrypted and can ONLY be unencrypted with a BitLocker password.

I think the op is most interested in gaining access to the computer rather than the files it contains. OP, correct me if I'm wrong.

My point, and only point, is data will be lost if a BitLocker key is lost. You can still access the drive for things like formatting or wiping, you just can't access the data. And you don't need any fancy tutorials, a simple wipe job will do. Been there done that
