Group chats are rolling out today in the new v1.124 update.
This is our first feature built for communities, and there's more to come.
Once you've updated the app, head to the chat tab and give it a try.
Each group chat hosts up to 50 people for now, but we may increase this limit in the future.
As the group chat creator, you can manage the chat however you like. You're in control of the privacy options, and you decide who's in or out.
You can also generate an invite link and share it anywhere — including in Bluesky posts, where it will get a nice embedded card.
As a chat participant, you decide who can invite you to Group Chats: everyone, only people you follow, or no one.
This setting defaults to "only people you follow" or whichever you've already set for DMs.
Invitations appear in your chat request inbox where you can approve or ignore them.
