what earbuds are we talking about? Samsung? Bose?
I am just curious because you might be barking at a wrong tree. Some earbuds are really fussy to deal with.

Like what the other member mentioned, make sure the battery level is also good. Sometimes it's also one reason why it can't establish connection. Good to know you sorted it out.

Well it wasn't sorted at that point but I took a walk to clear my head and came home and voila! Up and running and fine. So don't know exactly why but some of the fiddling we all did must have fixed it. Thanks to all...

A new wrinkle -- says they are connected however when attempting to listen to something online -- no sound. Now that they are showing up in device manager -- Bluetooth Q32 I should un-install??? Maybe something still not clicking with them.

Before you do anything, check the sound icon in the sys tray. Click on the end of the volume slider and click on the earbuds (might be showing as headphones). Test the volume slider for sound.
